Garmin Car navigation System for Ugandan roads!

When I saw a car navigation system for sale in the gane stores, I thought Ugandans have finally lost it. How is one supposed to use a car navigation system in a country where there are no names for the roads and every citizen has the right to name their own road. Well it looks like I was not alone the Ugandan Insomniac agrees with me

How can we use Solar power effectively

I read this interesting letter in the Daily Monitor today. Dr. Da Silva shows some very interesting comparisons on energy usage by Ugandans and other nationalities.

I think I shall look out for the UGX 30, 000 solar lamp and may be next year Ministry of Energy shall talk about it more as well. It may help reduce the number of incidences we read about in the newspapers of babies and children burning to death when left in the house alone with a candle.
